Rise UP Authors: Stretch Forward

So many authors give up, because it takes years to excel in reading, writing, marketing, and publishing. Just remember that God has placed that gift inside you, along with a dream of success. No matter what, God will not give up on you, or that dream.

You are a writer. A storyteller. Understand how rare it is for a person to have that kind of talent. And more importantly, no one on this planet can write like you.

Some of the most successful authors had gone through humbling experiences. Nora Roberts had to sew clothes for her children to wear. Stephen King was addicted to beer, cigarettes, cocaine, Xanax, Valiums, NyQuil, and marijuana. These authors overcame a humbling start and went on to greatness.

The world seems to bury dreams with hard times. A tough economy, sickness, depression, and other factors can destroy an author. It seems impossible to be creative, when so many other hardships are weighing you down.

Remember that a humble author will become a successful author. Keep fighting. Continue to believe in yourself.

Being an author is a lonely job. But God is with you. Do not believe in “experts” that discuss how the chances of success for an author are like hitting the lottery. You are not grouped in with the authors that will be around for a couple of years, write one book, then give up when they do not become millionaires.

God has a plan for your life. The world may send obstacles in your way, but nothing can stop you. No one can see the passion deep inside your heart.

Psalm 139:15 says, “You know me inside and out, God…you know every bone in my body; you know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something.”

God created you for a purpose. You are a writer. Let go of the past and reach to the future.

Rise Up…and stretch forward.

  1. Thank you Ron. God bless you!

  2. Wow, Ron! You are a rare find! Thanks for directing me to this site. So young, so wise. I am President of the Writer’s Society of Jefferson County (Missouri) and am looking to connect with other writers. I found a gem in you! Keep up this amazing work. You are helping many people.

  3. Thank you Ron. I just came across this today and I know God put it in my path. I’ve been in a rut the last few weeks trying to finish my next book, but somehow this was that board under the wheel to help me up and out of the hole. It is so beautifully written that I am printing it and posting it where it is easily ready for me to look at and be inspired, a great reminder that God gave me my gifts and therefore, he gave me what it takes to succeed!
